What To Watch This Week: ‘Station Eleven,’ ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘Magic Mike’

Station Eleven Emily St. John Mandel’s award-winning 2014 novel about a global pandemic and its far-reaching aftermath experienced a bit of a resurgence in popularity in 2020—go figure. Now, HBO Max is premiering the first three episodes of its 10-episode adaptation. The series centers on survivor Kirsten (played as a child by Matilda Lawler and as an adult by Mackenzie Davis), as she witnesses the early days of the plague and, 20 years later, travels the post-apocalyptic country with a rag-tag band of Shakespearean actors.
