A Sam Bankman-Fried Media Reckoning Is Underway

Last week, as Sam Bankman-Fried’s crypto exchange, FTX, was imploding, a journalist from Forbes sent him an email. A year earlier, the magazine had put Bankman-Fried—or SBF, as he’s known—on the cover of its annual Forbes 400 issue, hailing him in a profile as “the world’s richest 29-year-old.” He was worth $22.5 billion.
