AMERICANS could have until October to file their taxes by filing for an extension. Filing for an extension with the IRS can be done quickly. To request the extension, you’ll need to fill out Form 4868. This one-page form asks for general information like name, address, Social Security number and an estimate of how much you owe in taxes.
