Why Queen Elizabeth Isn’t Attending the 2022 Commonwealth Day Service

Queen Elizabeth will be missing her first major public engagement following her positive COVID diagnosis on February 20. She has asked her son, Prince Charles, to represent her at the Commonwealth Day Service, an annual celebration of the Commonwealth at Westminster Abbey. According to Buckingham Palace, the decision was made after discussing the arrangements with the royal household.
