David Davis, Writer-Producer of ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show,’ ‘Taxi,’ and Other Classics, Dies at Age 86
David Davis, an architect of modern American television, died on Friday in Los Angeles, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The Emmy-winner (and six-time nominee) was best known for writing and producing the groundbreaking Mary Tyler Moore Show and its spin-off Rhoda, and co-creating The Bob Newhart Show and Taxi.
