The Sweaters of Inisherin

In The Banshees of Inisherin, Brendan Gleeson cuts a menacing figure. His towering, Stetson-topped figure hulks across the screen, while in the background, the gray, ominous skies and rocky coasts of Inis Mór seem to mirror the chaos within him. Cloaked in a long, billowy brown coat, Gleeson looks better suited for sauntering up to a saloon door in the American West than brooding on the Aran Islands, yet he’s perfectly outfitted for delivering a friendship-ending blow to Colin Farrell.
