Last year, Mike White’s series The White Lotus arrived on HBO with little fanfare and then went on to become an awards-bedecked smash for the network. Because we’ve all forgotten how to leave well enough alone, a second season was ordered, set in a new location and featuring only one holdover character: Tanya, Jennifer Coolidge’s wreck of an heiress.
